Ram swap between laptops

Hi all,

I have two laptops one has too much ram and the other too little. Before I would buy an upgrade, I would like to check how the second laptop performs with 8GB of Ram. What I would like to do is take 8 GB from the first laptop, use it in the second for few days to see how it goes.

I have no idea if plugging ANY ram modules can do damage to the ram or mainboard/cpu, so my question is, is it safe to try the swap?

1st laptop: Lenovo ThinkPad W520 (i7-2720QM):
Capacity DeviceLocator Manufacturer PartNumber Speed
4294967296 ChannelA-DIMM1 Samsung M471B5273DH0-CH9 1333
8589934592 ChannelB-DIMM0 Samsung M471B1G73DB0-YK0 1333
4294967296 ChannelB-DIMM1 Samsung M471B5273DH0-CH9 1333

2nd laptop: Lenovo ThinkPad X220 (i5-2520M):
Capacity DeviceLocator Manufacturer PartNumber Speed
2147483648 ChannelA-DIMM0 Hynix/Hyundai HMT425S6AFR6A-PB 1600
2147483648 ChannelB-DIMM0 Hynix/Hyundai HMT425S6AFR6A-PB 1600

I thought of swapping the bolded ram modules between laptops, or at least use the Samsung ones in the Thinkpad x220 laptop.

Thank you for your answers!
