RAM to go with the new Wolfdale E8200

Once the E8200 is available in sufficient quantity on Newegg, I am hoping to purchase one. However, I do not know what RAM speed to get or manufacturer. I plan on overclocking the CPU to its max with air cooling. So, I would like RAM with overclocking headroom. 2GB is suffficient. I do not know if I should buy high quality DDR2800 or get some 1066. My budget for the RAM is $100 max. I also do not know what motherboard to get. My budget for the Mobo is around $85.

I for one would go for the 1066... might have to go a little over the $100 though.

Thing is I have been reading that quality ddr2 800 will overclock well. I also do not know what speed would be best.

I did find 2GB of ddr2 1066 memory for $100 on newegg. The main question is since I will be overclocking the cpu, should I go with high quality ddr2 800 or the ddr2 1066?

Get a pair of crucial 1066 sticks. The E8200 has a low multiplier (7 or 7.5x) so it will be limited by FSB before anything else. This should give you some room if you need to push to 450 or even 500 FSB (if your motherboard can handle it).

If you don't plan on going over 400FSB, then ddr800 may be a better deal!
