Is it ok if my power supply cables are touching my RAM? I have 4 RAM inputted and due to the small case size that I have, 2 of the RAMs are touching the cables. Due to the position of my power supply, I am unable to prevent this from happening.
I have an evga 500w 80 plus power supply and this is my computer: http://www.cnet.com/products/acer-aspire-m3300-e1222-athlon-ii-x4-620-2-6-ghz-4-gb-750-gb/specs/
I'm not sure what my case is so I just linked the specs of my computer.
i7Baby :
It probably is OK but not neat. What PSU? What case?
It's running across the ram because of the position of my power supply. My case is pretty small and there's no room to put the cables away from the RAM no matter how much I manage my cables.
i7Baby :
What cable is running across the ram?
You can usually run most cables behind the motherboard tray. But pre-builts really aren't built to accommodate upgrades or mods.
Having the cables touch the ram might misalign it when your pc is on, which might lead to crashes/damage. Cables 'relax' after a while you see and might put some force on the dimms.
I'd stick some strings/tape/cable ties on the lines if it was my setup, or completely realign the psu (it doesnt need to be bolted down on the pc anyway).
