Question RAM Underclocking itself?

My Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 3200 MHZ 32 GB (I have 4x sticks 8gb per stick) keeps underclocking itself, I've enabled XMP, I've tried to set it manually, when I open CPU-Z or Task Manager it says its running at 1600 MHZ

My Computer:
AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT Mech OC Edition
32 DDR4 RAM 3200 mhz
Motherboard - MSI B450 TOMAHAWK
Ryzen 5 3600 Processor
1 TB HDD
Crucial M500 SSD
Samsung Evo 970 Pro 1TB M.2 SSD
APEXGAMING 750 W POWER SUPPLY


I noticed this issue with my performance on Windows 10 Store Games (Sea of Thieves, Halo: MCC) You can name it. I'll run the game and it seems to just run at very low FPS, but one weird thing is when I tab out of the game to use something on my 2nd monitor the game runs smooth, but as soon as I tab back in boom it starts to lag.

Yeah I don't know then man, I've really been trying to play Halo and I just can't it wont let me, I'll look into it

just to troubleshoot, try taking out 2 sticks then play, if that doesn't help try the other two sticks and slots.

What about games outside the game store?

Try running userbenchmarck and sharing a link to the results.

Sounds more like a poor power supply to me than a memory problem or a heat problem.

It's normal, 3200 MHz DDR (Double Data Rate) means 1600 Mhz single. What you see in software such as CPU-Z etc will be mostly half of the original speed.

As for the game, just see if anything is actively monitoring it. Also if the game allows, give it higher priority in the task manager.
