Hi,

I have an HP Omen 15 inch gaming laptop, this is the product page of my exact model -> HP Page for omen 15

I want to expand the ram from 8GB to 16GB so could anyone recommend the best way to do this please and which ram module(s) to buy?

I understand that replacing my existing 8 with a 16 or buying a pair of 8's is the best option (i.e. not use the existing module) but am unsure of which module(s) i need.

I know i need SODIMMS and DDR4 but am unsure other than that, can i use any speed? and is there much difference in final laptop performance between 2666mhz and 3200mhz for example?

I've been a software engineer for 25 years so I'm technical, but not on the hardware side.

Thanks in advance
Mark.

Edit: You could go with this too its 266mhz slower although won't be noticeable and it costs $20 bucks less. And buying from newegg and amazon will also give peace of mind if there's some issue.

Hello there Sir!
The product page you linked isn't available although if it's a Intel cpu i don't think 2666/3200 will make any differences if amd yes and get a pair of 16 i.e 2x8, check this crucial site you have to just put the details it asks

Thanks All, primarily used for gaming so I want to make sure good quality and fast, I'll look at Amazon, crucial etc tomorrow given all the information here thanks
I also found this, it has many reviews and you'll not only get speed ram 2666Mhz but also lower latency because of being CL16, it's also the most expensive than the others I've recommended.
