hi,brought a dell xps one A2010 and want to upgrade ram on it .i have just done the cpu from a E6550 to a Q6600 and now want to get the best out of it with the max ram and speed, i currently have 4gb ddr2 332mhz in it,any info would be must appreicated

then todays memory most of it may not work due to whats said here and why you need to be careful and use the memory manufactures compatibility list lot of them DO NOT make compatible memory for them older systems and will fail to work [why theres not much to choose from ]

You need to provide more information on the motherboard before proceeding to upgrade.

Use the "Run" tool and type in this line:

if me I would use the ram configurators form memory companies like g-skill or corsaie knigston and get there guaranteed listed as compatible memory for your dell - that way its on them if its not or don't work

Yeah, better way to go about it, I wasn't quite aware of those memory manufacturer websites, better you got to it faster than me... I'm so used to taking the long route...
