Hello, I am looking for recommendations for 16 gig upgrade of ram on my alienware m11x laptop. I am new to this computer stuff so I don't want to buy something that isn't compatible with my laptop. My budget is $200.

Unfortunately, it seems that your laptop can accomodate max. 8GB of DDR3-1333, so a pair of 4GB. You could try 8GB DIMMs, but they are not officially supported, so it will be trial-and-error.

If you really need 16 GB, go to a computer shop and ask them nicely to try some 8GB So-DIMMs; it is possible that dual-rank DIMMs could work on your laptop, something like these:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220621 , 16 GB kit, or

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA1YH1GV0317 , a single 8 GB module.

I have an i7 processor, 4 gigs of ram, and a nvidia geforce gt 335m graphics card if that helps.
