RAM upgrade from 4 to 8Gb?

Can a X54HR-SX321V Asus Notebook support 8Gb ram?
I would gladly upgrade my 4Gb ram but I'm not sure if it's compatible, moreover programs such as Speccy and cpuz say there is a free slot that this product should not have, according to "internet" (duh). I can not check it myself - not really able to open it and see, and I really don't know what to do. Thanks in advance.

Check with CPU-Z, it should say if both slots are occupied. If only one slot is occupied, reason stands that you can add another 4GB stick (ideally a new 2x4GB kit to prevent RAM conflicts).
