Ram upgrade-match for existing ram

Hi, I'm trying to match the existing Hynix 4GB Ram <pc3-10700> on my PC (according to CPU-Z). I cannot find anything similar, let alone hynix. Crucial scan recomends DDR3 PC3-12800 Unbuffered • NON-ECC 1.5V. <part no. CT5510272>. Is there anything else I can match with?

There are no guarantees when 'mixing' DRAM, not even if you were to find the same exact stick(s) you have, they might play with the old - might not, what mobo and CPU?

It is an older PC, HP compaq 8000 elite cmt PC, mobo 3647h. CPU C2Q Q8400.

That's a socket 775, back then DDR3 was made with low density memory ICs which they haven't used since about the end of 2010 - might look for the GSkill NT series of value DRAM which is still available here and there

The best option would be to buy new ram, and replace the old one?

Probably - if you can find old DDR3 that is compatible, like the GSkill NT series of Value DRAM
