I have an Acer Aspire X3900 with the FIH57 motherboard. It came with a default 3GB of RAM, i.e. one 1GB and one 2GB module by Kingston. Part numbers 'ACR128X64D3U1333C9' and 'ACR256X64D3U1333C9' respectively. Now, 3GB wasn't cutting it for me when I tried to use programs like After Effects, Premier Pro and Photoshop so I decided to upgrade to 8GB of RAM instead.
My processor; Intel Core i3 530 @2.93GHz can support upto 16 GB of 1333MHz RAM so it should have supported the two 4GB Transcend modules (both 1333MHz and in a kit) i bought to replace my 3GB RAM.
However, upon swapping the RAM, my PC doesn't boot up. It loads up the 'Acer' logo and then nothing happens after that.
I even updated my BIOS and reset it to default yet it doesn't work.
More information: OS: Win7 free upgrade to Win10 64bit
Could someone please explain to me as to what may be going wrong here, and how I can fix it?
Thanks

Exactly

Right, the brand is Transcend and the model numbers for the two modules, i believe are: "D09323-1212" and "D09323-1205"

I cannot find those models at all. hard to know the specs.

Apologies, I may have given you the incorrect numbers. Could you try "JM1333KLH-4G" this is what is written on the packaging, so i assume it may be the model number

So both my old RAM modules are ECC? and buying ECC RAM modules should work?

Solution
To do with the existing memory that was fitted to the system.

First of all remove the new matched pair of memory stick you bought.

Place the old memory in the system again in the same order they were positioned in the memory slots of your motherboard.
power sup the system and enter the bios of the motherboard via the stated key on your key board.

It can be F1, F2, or the Delete key on the keyboard when the system is first powered on and the key is pressed in rapid succession.

Once in the bios setup menu of the motherboard, look for any option relating to memory type.

The can be an option for enable EEC memory detection, and also to disable that mode in some bios setups for the motherboard.

If the new memory kit you bought is non EEC type memory disable EEC memory mode in the bios.
Save the changes, and then exit the bios.

Power the system off, and remove the old ram used with the system.
And then place the new set of memory of a matched pair of sticks at 4Gb each into the same memory slots as the orthogonal old system memory populated out of the four memory slots provided on the motherboard.

Make sure the new memory stick are seated in the memory slots of the motherboard plushly.
By pressing down on each outer edge of the memory with your two thumbs till you hear the memory stick click in each memory slot of the motherboard.

Power the system on, and if it posts to a Acer splash screen logo again press the key to enter the bios of the motherboard.

You now need to select the speed of the memory, or look for the option in the bios to enable Xmp memory mode.
when you go to select the speed for the memory options you will see a speed profile with Xmp after it as a selection select it.

Save the changes again you have made in the bios before you exit it majorcarrot .

And the system should work there after the setup instructions above.
