Question Ram Upgrade - Now Pc doesn’t boot.

Hello, I’ve recently bought 2x4 gb (Total 8 gb) 240 pin DDR3 1333 GSKILL Ram. -

This was to upgrade my current hp p6644y’s stock 4 gb ram.
I took installed the new ram but after powering up the pc, I get 1 short beep and 1 long beep. The monitor screen stays blank. I found out that from hp’s support site that it represents a memory problem. So I took out the new ram and replaced it with my old ram. I turned on the pc again and it was working fine.
I am now confused to wether or not the ram sticks I bought are compatible with my hp p6644y or if it’s another problem. Please help me out.

My pc: Hp p6644y
Changed specs:
CPU: Q9650
GPU: GTX 745 4gb

Since you're using one of their proprietary motherboards - they can be extremely limited as far as options go.

You're restricted to 4GB max. The ram you already had was the best possible combo.

It's BS to coerce you into buying another PC from them.
