Hello,

I have an Acer Aspire A515-51G and I want some opinions before I upgrade my RAM.

Right now the laptop has 8GB (4GB soldered on motherboard and 4GB switchable). I'm thinking of removing the 4GB and placing a 16GB, in order to have 20GB (which is the maximum supported for this motherboard). Current RAM run at 2133Hz with CAS 15 and runs at Dual Channel. My two final options are Corsair and G.Skill

1) https://www.corsair.com/eu/en/Categ...-2133MHz-C15-Memory-Kit/p/CMSO16GX4M1A2133C15 [70€ where I live - ~79$]

2) https://www.gskill.com/specification/2/197/1537264131/F4-2133C15S-16GRS-Specification [58‎€ where I live - ~65$]

My quenstion is do you think that I'll face any problems if I place a 16GB with the current 4GB soldered. Because they won't run at Dual Channel anymore (it's called flex-mode if I'm not mistaken). Will it be better to have 8GB Dual Channel or 20GB Flex-Mode? Lastly, do you suggest one of the two manufacturers, did anyone faced a similar problem?

Thanks in advance,
Panagiotis, Greece

It's okay. You will not notice the different (except APU graphics). I Have old Asus laptop with 2GB Onboard and 4GB Corsair.

astly, do you suggest one of the two manufacturers
For me, actually prefer Corsair. The main reason is they easy to find in my country (IDN) than Gskill. I just do RMA the RAM 2 month ago since the RAM undetected suddenly. Just come to their authorized retailer, they just check it (no test) and give me the new RAM.
