hi guys,
so I recently built a PC and everything is working fine. However, even when not gaming or doing anything on my desktop Task Manager tells me my memory usage is between 39%-45% and I am not sure why. I have 8gb of ram, 2 sticks of HyperX 4gb. While playing games such as Fallout 4 or GTA V, occasionally windows will crash and will have to restart and I'm wondering if this is due to the problem with my RAM.
Cheers

Restart your'e computer, open only task manager and go to processes. Is anything using a lot of RAM that shouldn't be? Run msconfig.exe - go to the startup tab and check what programs that are running on startup. 39 - 45% does not seem that much though, but i agree that it is a bit too high. About 25% is about right.

@Lars01 all of the processes are reasonably low at startup yet the RAM usage is still high. The most demanding application at is probably Origin with 41.1mb but the others are all really low

My operation is Windows 10 however the boot drive is not my SSD but my old laptop HDD. However, RAPID mode is enabled for my SSD

If disabling RAPID mode doesn't work, i do not know what can cause the problem. Do you have any computer expert / shops where you live? Maybe they can check your'e pc to find the reason why your'e pc is using that much ram when idle.
