RAM Usage 70% while doing nothing, hdd 70%ish too

When I close everything my RAM/Memory usage is around 70% average and my hdd will occasionally have spikes of up to 100% for minutes at a time with nothing visible taking up that much usage. Going to install an antivirus program to check just in case but I don't click random links and up till about a week ago I've had some program just in case, deleted it thinking it may be a problem plus annoying ads. Changed nothing.

So you got malware? Which anti malware did you scan it with?

Got malwarebytes, scanned it and only two things, dameon tools lite for both and i remember downloading that from its home page, quarantined it just to be safe, no change.
