RAM usage always high!

My RAM usage keeps getting up and up even if I close every programs. Ex: I was playing shadow of mordor, RAM got up to 11gb and it stayed at that point even if the game was closed. I need to restart my pc everytime because my RAM keeps getting up and my pc lag. What's happening?

Sounds like a serious bug in your system. That is a massive RAM leak. What OS are you using?

Try using this process to find out what program is using all the RAM. Otherwise the only other options I can recommend are a virus skin and making sure you have the latest Windows 7 updates. Although I'm guessing those are things which you have probably already done.

My windows is up to date, I did a virus scan with Microsoft security essential and detected nothing. My ram usage will stay at like 11gb and keep going up even if I close the game, but in task manager I see nothing that uses all that RAM.... I calculated and the usage I could see was far away from the 11gb.. What can I do now?

You might find its a faulty program you can easily uninstall to fix the problem

Nothing worked... I don't see a program that uses a lot of RAM... Last night I let my PC run and it was at 8gb when I go to sleep (nothing was running so it was strange) and when I got up it was at 13gb ... I don't know what to do

How long does it take for your RAM usage to go up that much?

Also try looking up hard faults per second. It could be something to do with virtual memory/page filing.

It stays at the point it was when I was in game. So I close the game and it stays at like 12gb... It never go down, only go up. It doesnt go up that fast, I let my pc run for like 12 hours and it upped 4gb (8gb to 12gb) without going down. How do I look hard faults per second?

Its normal for RAM usage to increase over that amount of time. Thats just how RAM works.
Does the lag only happen when you have the system on for more than six hours?


By the way how much RAM do you have?
The usage might not even be the problem. Its likely that when you launch a program that uses lots of RAM its just keeping it on file for when you want to launch it again.
