Literally the title I have 8gb of ram and I have no idea why it's doing this. I think it may be AVG's "AVG Scanning Core Module" as it is using around 100mb when the PC is idle. But Ive noticed that my games have been significantly laggier with windows 10 than 7 😛 maybe go back to 7?

Solution
Windows likes to cache things in memory to speed up the system (has since Vista), so memory usage at idle is not generally something to be concerned about. Simply check the task manager to see what's using the most, and also check the Performance tab for what is actually being used vs the memory being used for cache.

As for lag, it's certainly possible your drivers aren't up to date or that AVG is causing glitches. Reinstalling both after an upgrade to Windows 10 is generally a good idea
