Hello everyone, I have 16 GB of ram with a GTX 970 and intel i5-4590 and when I open up my task manager it says I'm using 95% of my memory. All I have open right now is this internet page and the Discord communication client. Need some help with this issue, there is no way it should be using this much RAM.

Download and install malwarebytes. The free version will do. Get it here:

https://www.malwarebytes.org/dl-confirm/

After installing, allow it to update its databases and run a full scan. Remove all the app identifies.

Good luck.

Windows will use available memory for caching and such and release it as needed, you will not see much free memory windows 7/8/10 but that doesn't mean it's actually not available. 95% is still a bit high. I have the same amount of RAM on my machine at home, will try to remember to check it when I'm home to see what it reports.

I just downloaded Malware like COLGeek said and ran it then ran CC Cleaner and I've been at about 23% for awhile so far just idling.. I guess I'll have to see if it does it again.

There's a known issue with Killer network cards in which the default Windows drivers cause a memory leak in the kernel. These network cards are often built into motherboards, hence my asking. Your motherboard doesn't have one though.
