my trident z rgb 3200mhz cl16 1.35v
is running on 1.2v stock on 3200mhz stable and I didn't change my voltage at all it was 1.2v on default I just changed the freq to 3200mhz because thats where it's rated at. should I change the voltage to 1.35 even when it's stable at 1.2v

Whether you use XMP or manually set memory parameters, just setting memory clock speed is only one of the three memory parameters.
1) clock speed
2) DRAM timings
3) DRAM voltage

Enabling XMP sets all three memory parameters, while manually setting all three memory parameters takes more changes to the BIOS. It is up to you what settings you choose to make.

Run some memory benches (SANDRA free) both at your current settings and when you enable XMP. I bet XMP has tighter timings which should result in a minor performance improvement. If both settings are stable (test with a couple hours of Memtest86) go with the one that give better performance.
