i have 16 GB ram in.
http://prntscr.com/o37dog (picture of windows sys showing the amount of ram i have. which is 16GB)

now there is Task Manager, where One application is using 1GB ram. now if i change the display from Value to Percents, it says 11% - 12%.
now im not an expert at math, but last time i checked, 11x 10 is more then 100%. meaning windows only allows me to use 10GB ram of my available 16?

Thanks for your time.

62% memory used? what programs do you have opened in background? i had such high usage of ram when i had 8gb and had a game opened, else i would get 20%
But now with 16gb am no where near that.

i got Rust open, using that 1GB.

and then theres firefox with a "FEW" tabs open using 5GB. taking it up to 60%.

but that does not make sense. 5GB out of 16 GB does not = 50%.

so im wondering what might cause windows Task Manager to think that 5GB = 50% out of 16GB

well yes that is true.

but a program that uses 10% of my ram (Rust) only uses 1GB ram.

last time i checked, 1GB is not 10% out of 16GB, as task manager is stating.

Did a quick research on your problem, people said this:

In the infamous words of one redditor "your system is just wasting that unused ram anyways!"
seriously though, you really need 16GB for Rust unless you want to restart every other hour. The game has a huge memory leak. Sometimes even with 16GB I'll see it using 10-12GB and have to restart.

If a game has a memory leak and you have an 8gb you can do nothing to be honest, beside upgrading that might help with the problem.

Wops, sorry forgot that part still pretty early in the morning for me.
But as i stated, people said that rust has memory leaks, and am sure you can use the 16gb but the game doesn't use all of it.

? its not really about the game lagging (as it does not)

its more about Task Manager telling me that 1GB RAM = 10% of all my available RAM.

(i have showed multiple URL's with pictures showing this.)

ignore the game. and basically every program. as that is not the point of this post.

the Question that i asked and would really like answered is:

Why does Task Manager tell me, that 1GB of ram, is Equal to 12% of my available 16GB of ram?

Picture which might really help you understand http://prntscr.com/o380s4
