Question Ram won't fit?

So I'm building a pc on an Msi B450M PRO-VDH MAX mobo, with a single hyperx fury 16gb ram stick (HX424C15FBK if that's important), and when i tried to install it, it seems the notch is about a millimeter off from where it should be (

). The ram and the mobo are certainly ddr4, and I did try flipping the ram, but that puts the notch about a centimeter away. Help?

It seems you're certainly doing something wrong, either the end at which it should clip into before you snap the lock on the other end, might not be fully seated.

We could be proven wrong by you providing more images of the ram and the slot*full length images).
