Hello, I am currently building a new pc with the asrock x370 taichi and 2 sticks of gskill ripjaws V DDR4 RAM. The ram slides in about halfway but won't go any further. I am positive it is oriented the correct way and i've tried using enough force that it even bends the mobo quite a bit but it still will not go into place. Any suggestions?

This board has locks only on upper end as far as I see. You have to push in lower end of the stick first, then upper end until it locks, otherwise it blocks on the lower end if you try do it in different order (or just trying to put both ends at the same time - it won't work with this kind of slots)
