Question RAM wont run at rated speeds on Ryzen 7 2700x?

I have an ASUS ROG B450-F with an R7 2700x and just upgraded to 16GB of Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro RAM rated at 3000mhz.

I know that out of the box it runs 2133, so I've tried overclocking with the D.O.C.P that is detected by the motherboard, which is 15-15-17-36.

Using the D.O.C.P, it boot loops until it brings me back to BIOS, so I tried manually changing my timings and memory speeds.

Currently, I have posted to windows with 2933mhz and 20-20-20-42, which I know is really stretching it due to what my sticks are rated for...

My question is, why is my system being so strict with my RAM? what am I doing wrong? D.O.C.P should work fine. Should...

Is this with the CPU overclock or no? If you are trying to run DOCP + that 4.2ghz overclock, that's probably your issue. Try stock.

If that is stock, try going to the latest BIOS if you haven't already.
I tried solo OC'ing the RAM before I re-OC'd my CPU, I ran at base clocks with no luck on DOCP, but was able to get 2866, I'm not saying that I'm not happy with anything besides 3000mhz, I just am trying to figure out why it's not accepting a preset configuration for RAM clocks.

That model is Not on the ASUS QVL for our motherboard:
https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/SocketAM4/ROG_STRIX_B450_F_GAMING/Memory-QVL-For-AMD-Ryzen-2000-Series-Processors.pdf
Which means it may NOT be able to run at full speed.
CMU16GX4M2C3000C15 (Ver4.31) is on the list but not your model:
CMW16GGX4M2C3000C15

I'd try setting it to 2933 or 2800 and see if that works and if not go lower until it does work.
OR return it and get a kit that is on the QVL so you know it will run at it's rated speed.

I'm at 2933 right now with 20-20-20-42 timings, are there any lower timings that you can suggest that might be stable? i'll mess with them tomorrow after work.

Download DRAM Calculator for Ryzen:
https://www.techpowerup.com/download/ryzen-dram-calculator/

And Thaiphoon Burner:
http://www.softnology.biz/files.html

Use the info from the READ button in Thaiphoon Burner in the DRAM calculator to get Safe Settings for 2933 Mhz.

PS
The best BIOS for OCing 2000 series CPUs and RAM on our MB is version 1201 (which has AGESA 1.0.06).
The newer BIOS versions are Not as stable with a 2000 series CPU and don't OC RAM as well.
Sorry, this DRAM calculator is kind of confusing to me, what am i looking for?

You need to run Thaiphoon Burner first to get the exact specifications of your RAM by using the READ button.
Then use the Info from Thaiphoon Burner to fill in the Left Colum on the DRAM Calculator (Note that the 2700x is a Zen+ Processor).
Then click on the R-XMP button at the bottom, then the Calculate Safe settings Button.
Here is what it looks like for my Ryzen 5 2600 system:
