Ram wont work together but works seperate

Hello, I recently just did my very first pc build. Everything went smooth except for the fact that I wouldn't get a signal to my monitor with both my sticks of ram. Both of the sticks work fine... On their own, but not together. I have searched far and wide for a solution. I tried every combination possible in the motherboard. The info says the voltage should be 1.5v and it was set at 1.3v so i changed that but that still didnt work( i tried this in slots a1 and b1, but not a2 and b2 because im lazy and my parents were yelling at me to goto bed) so i dont really know where to go from there.
