So my pc has a building list of problems and I really would appreciate some help, thanks.

Ram: Originally my ram was 4 2Gb sticks (which I know was bad) and whenever I looked under computer properties it said 8GB (4.00 GB usable). I did the ms config thing and put the number to the highest it could go and restarted my computer. It didn't work. I bought new ram and it was 2 4GB sticks. I put it in my computer and I had the same error so I went to ms config and put the number for memory to the highest, restarted and it didn't work. Is it possible my motherboard is broken?

I know this isn't the place to ask sound card help, but if you can please,

Sound: My PCs microphone stopped working years ago, so I couldn't Skype with people through it but the sound output still worked fine until recently when it gave out. I was fed up and bough a sound card that was compatible. My mistake I got the cheapest one. I put it in to my computer and did the microsoft install helper thing, and I put in the disk for the drivers but it always said that my computer didn't have the sound card in it. I think that the PCIe port I put it into may be disabled for some reason but I don't have a clue on this.
Link to the sound card:

Please help, I'm fed up with my computers problems, thanks a lot.

Solution
IS it a third part CPU cooler? if so it may be on too tight in a corner or side which would throw off the MC (memory controller) so it might sense the DRAM but can't use it

Mobo: Asus P7P55D-E
CPU: intel core i7 K 875
CPU Cooler: IDK
DRAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR3 1600
GPU: Strix GTX 960
PSU: Corsair TX750M
OS: Windows 7 64-bit

I found what cooler I have its the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus CPU Cooler. Does this help?
