Ive built a lot of computers yet I havent ever encountered this issue:
- Im using a Asus prime H310M-K (it supports 2133mhz, 2400, 2666)
- Tried with a stick of 16gb 2666mhz (g.skill aegis). PC doesnt boot (mind you this stick has worked in this MOBO before)
- Grabbed a stick of 8gb 3200mhz (Kingston fury) , underclocked it to 2133mhz, PC works
- I thought the other stick wasn't working so I bought 2 sticks of 8gb 2666mhz, PC doesn't boot (none of them work even individualy).
- Wtf
- Grabbed original 16gb and underclocked it to 2133, PC doesnt boot.
- What's going on and why does it only work with the 3200 underclocked???

X99 Boards are weird now after so long of them being out and I too can relate. I had an ROG Rampage V E10 with 32GBs of 3200Mhz RAM and an i7-5960X. After setting up everything and configuring Windows 10 and everything else I went to reboot after the Creators Update & it wouldn't boot so I thought maybe it's the RAM & whatdoyaknow . . . XMP was the problem for me. There was too much voltage and power put into the system and it wouldn't POST after the Creators Update. So, I turned off XMP and let it auto optimize and it put everything at 2133Mhz which I don't really care cuz looking back; it was an old architecture & everything was funky back then so . . . to answer your question; MAYBE it's that the Mobo can't take odd factor sticks or something? Try using different combinations of the sticks and see if it's works too cuz I've also done 2 2133 sticks & 2 2400 sticks and worked fine before the Creator Update lol....................food for thought
I'm glad I'm not alone on this. Thank you for your reply. 👍
