Ram XMP kills wireless N adaptor?!

Hello,
As I set my HyperX grey 2*4GB ram to the XMP 1666mhz setting (what it's rated at) and boot into windows my 150MBPS Addon wireless-n adaptor drops to 1-2mps on speedtest.net?!
If I set it to auto it goes back upto 15 mbps.

Why is this?!

It sounds like a bottle neck but I might be wrong. If you don't notice a performance increase setting it to 1666 then set it back to auto.
