Ok i have a board that takes up to 2400mhz ram and my ram i have installed is 3200mhz - my first question is if my 3200mhz ram is greater than the board can take why is it not running faster at 2400mhz ( i have 4 x 4gb ram sticks at moment but they only running at 2133mhz.

Im asking because i want to buy 2 x 16gb sticks of 2400mhz ram but thinking they are only going to run at 2133mhz.

I did enable xmp on my board but it still was running at 2133mhz ?

Three things that you should post: your memory model (full number), motherboard, and CPU.

2133MHz is often the default rate (if it runs at all) for when you set a value that the above group will not run and you do not manually set the correct speed, timings, and voltage.
