My motherboard is ASUS Prime B350M-K. It has an 8GB RAM with 2133 MHZ installed. I am planning to extend the RAM with another 8 GB.

Planning to buy HyperX Fury Black 8 GB CL15 DIMM DDR4 2400 or Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB DDR4 3000.

Since my existing is @ 2133 MHZ, will it work when adding a 2400 MHZ or 3000 MHZ RAM.And will I get the performance of 16GB RAM.

I use my system mainly for Gaming.

Memory is only guarenteed to work in the form sold.

Mixing ram may work fine, or it might not work at all. On a 1st generation Ryzen board I would definitely not mix ram as ram compatibility is kind of sketchy with even matched kits.

I would sell the old ram and just buy a proper 2x16gb 3200mhz kit since ryzen really needs fast, matched ram.

Thanks for your response.

Can I combine RAM of same speed (MHZ) but different brand together. Will that work.

i.e - Currently I run with Crucial 8 GB RAM. Can I add another 8 GB of RAM of the same Speed (MHZ) but from HyperX Fury brand.

Maybe, maybe not. Its mostly luck.

I suggest getting a new matched kit to replace your current ram.
Thanks Bro.
One clarification
When I checked the RAM speed in command prompt with command "wmic memorychip get speed", the speed shown was 2400. But on my RAM it's written 2133.

which one is correct and is there a better way to identify the right speed
