RAMDrive or SSD?

Hello fellow PC Gaming enthusiasts,

I recently built a black Friday rig and I'm looking to add components over the next few months.
Currently I don't have SSD and I'm looking for the next biggest performance boost.
Would it be best to invest in a SSD (i'd need 120GB+) or another 16GB of Ram (totally 32GB) and use that as a ram drive (for games such as WOW).

On one hand running SSD would boost my overall performance for my system but if i ran a 24GB RamDrive with a game on it I would see load times increase.

As of now I can run FarCry 3 on Ultra max, WOW on Ultramax (and getting 30-60 FPS) and games like Metro 2033 on Ultra without any lag issues (I'm usually ripping DVDs or encoding something as well without an issues at the same time).

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I would invest in the SSD for OS and frequent programs.

You will benefit from an SSD a lot! Get something decent like Intel, also Samsung is pretty good. The main point for SSD is that the whole OS will be installed on the SSD and will load from it, when if you have a Ram Drive you can only use it for non OS files.

If you really want to speed up the process then get 2 SSD in to RAID and double the performance -) The RAM drive is megafast indeed, but copying your files to the ram drive everytime you reload PC is time consuming process and can be boring sometimes...
