rampage black mobo

i am really thinking about getting away from my amd parts(that are problematic) and moving to intel. i need a mobo and cpu. im thinking about the rampage black edition series mobo. i have memory but if i put it in would it work. it is corsair vengence 1666 memory but could it be backwards compatible like a usb.

What DRAM? the model #, sounds like maybe 1600 or maybe 1866 and how many sticks? The Rampage Black is X79 and can run dual channel DRAM but 4 sticks (quad channel) would be better
