Here is the build:

Upon launching for the first time I was getting debug error code 00, and the CPU LED was red. I called Asus and they said it could be a faulty BIOS and they are sending me a new board. However, I want to try as much as I can before it's sent.

I've discovered that the most recent BIOS update to make it compatible with the 4930K isn't flash updating properly. The .ROM to .CAP converter goes through fine, but the most recent update (4403) isn't flash updating right because it only flashes for about 3 seconds and then stops. I don't know why it's not doing it normally.

Solution
Check that your USB stick in the right USB port. On most mb it the bottom port on the back. Look at the bios rev the toast numbers on the mb. If it was 1400 or less the bios converter will run if bios is 2xxx use the highest 2xxx bios and try it then use the 3xxx bios then the 4000 bios to rule out cap fie bios bug.
Borg 794 when asus switch to .cap files you have to use the bios renamer tool that in the bios download file.
The z77 sabertooth bios is not 4407 now but called z77st when the bios renamer tool renames the cap file. Look on asus web page for the right name or run the renamer tool.

Yes the files have been named correctly. (R4F.ROM for the converter and R4F.CAP for the actual update). Despite that, it doesn't work.

Yes, it's going in the right one. It's right beside the ROG connect button and it's white instead of black, so it's impossible to miss. The REV is 1.01, and I've already flashed the converter. Should I try the 2xxx -> 3xxx -> 4xxx strategy in case that's the problem here?

There is a sticker on the board ending in 1305, so I assume that's the BIOS version it shipped with.

So this is interesting, I tried to put on a 2xxx and a 3xxx update and neither one worked. They both did the same thing as 4403, just blinked for a couple seconds and then stopped. This is interesting... A guy on a different forum thinks that the .ROM to .CAP converter is supposed to have 2 stages, but I haven't seen that anywhere else. Could it be the converter that is causing the problem?

I think that may be the problem. The converter doesn't reboot the system at all because it's not compatible with the CPU without the latest update. Currently all I have plugged in is the power and that is it. No RAM, no CPU, nothing. So when I run the converter obviously it doesn't turn on because there is no CPU to turn on. When I did have the CPU in, it would turn on and then do nothing because it isn't immediately compatible with the CPU. So if the converter needs to reboot the system after it's first flash, they need to release a converter that will work with Ivy Bridge-e.

Think that's the problem here? How would I ago about bringing that problem to Asus's attention?

I've got the exact same problem with my new PC and a 4930k.

I found a number of similar threads on various sites and the only solution I could find is to order a new BIOS chip that contains the new BIOS and replace the chip. It will run you only $15 from Asus' eStore. I ordered mine today..

Yeah I made a thread on the ROG forum about it, too. That's what fixed mine. They shipped the BIOS chip very fast and all I had to do was pop it in and everything worked perfectly!

Hello. I also I have the same problem (code 00, cpu led and not bot. Fans turned on and everything working but not boot)
My computer is Asus rampage iv formula, i7 4820k, 750w psu Ezcool.
First it was not working ((code 00, cpu led and not bot), then worked (according to the rms of the person who sold it to me) and when I tried it did not work with my psu.
I think that may be the bios.

  tested a new bios chip?

The problem is that I'm from Argentina and Nose to buy the bios chip. Sell them on ebay but idk if the original will brings R4F think?

That first link should be good! It says in the description that it will ship with the latest BIOS, so that one should fix your problem!

Hi .
tested a new bios chip?
solved the problem??????

This is what I did and it worked perfectly for me. All I had to do was plug it in and it started up like normal!

Thats all fine and good but I paid good money for a new motherboard!..dam ridiculous. Seems heaps of people are having the same problem.
Same as me..red light on CPU, flash bios with converter no problem, try to update bios, flashes 3 times thats it!
I have email support so lets see what they say?
