Got Meister in the mail a couple of days ago, but didn't get a chance to open
him until today. I was going to write a full review, but I don't have the time
to do that right now. So, I'll just offer a few random thoughts.
-Meister looks a lot better in person than he does on transformers.com. They
forgot to transform half of him for the official picture. I initially thought
the white would be to overwhelming, but it all works out pretty well.
-As many of you have seen, the new Alternators feature a new box design. You
know how in the old packaging, the car was stored in plastic and the box had a
clear plastic window? On the new packaging, the plastic window has been
removed, but the covering for the car was kept.
-Meister's gun does not become his engine. Instead, it becomes part of his
exhaust system.
-Meister seems to have a set of eyes behind his visor.
-He has ratcheting joints for his knees and and hips.
-Based on Smokescreen and Meister's robot modes, you would think they share the
same general transformation scheme. However, the transformations are
sufficiently different that you feel like you are playing with a different
figure. It should be a lot easier getting Meister back to car mode compared to
Smokescreen.
-Meister doesn't grip his gun quite as well as Smokescreen, but he does a
better job than Side Swipe.
Overall, Meister is a really nice figure. The transformation was different from
what I expected it would be.
Now if only Hound and Silverstreak would show up on store shelves...
