Hello.

I brought a HD Radeon 5570 a week ago and set it up. Downloaded the latest drivers from amd. The problem started from then on. Whenever I start Medieval II total war and enter the campaign map, the screen randomly goes black for a second and comes back. Unable to find a solution online, I come to you guys for support. Please halp 🙁
UPDATE : Happens when not playing games too
Thanks in advance

Thanks for the quick reply.
I have and old ViewSonic VA1716w monitor with a VGA port.
UPDATE : I just noticed this happenes when I am not playing games too :'(

No, I download WHQL drivers always. I did notice one screen black out when I newly inserted the card. Probably it was installing the vga drivers as I noticed in the icon tray.

What windows version are you using? Also if you have integrated graphics, try connecting you monitor to the motherboard and see if the screen flicker is still there.

I am using win 7. I will try that tomorrow. Thanks for the quick replies. Will reply ASAP.

Hello again. I think I solved the problem. I went into windows update and there were a lots of updates for me pc (about 100). So I updated them and I haven't gotten the black screen yet. Will notify if I get it again. And btw, Why did you mark the thread as solved before I even got a proper solution? Was just curious..

I believe I did something or it was a glitch, didn't mean to :)

I got the black screen again when I was playing M2TW... Any suggestions?
Update: Also got a BSOD. The screen froze and then the bsod came up. This is what I got after startup-
