Hello, Ive recently upgrading my 4 year old system and I have been facing a problem. The pc works fine in regular applications like chrome, etc. but in any game like rust, whenever I tab out to look or click at something on my second monitor, the pc either restarts or blue screens.

Old specs
Ryzen 7 3700x
16gb Geil 3200mhz
B450m Steel Legends
Gtx 1080 ti (bought used)
550W Tuf Gaming psu

New specs

Ryzen 7 5800x
16gb Geil 3200mhz
B450m Steel Legends (Updated bios(4.0) to support 5000 Ryzen)
Rx 6650 xt (tested with old cpu, no problems)
550W Tuf Gaming psu

I have a fresh installed windows 11 so it cant be the nvidia or previous drivers screwing with the pc stability.
already talked to amd suppoert and got nowhere with that.

Ive looked at the errors in Event Viewer and Im getting errors like:
WHEA-Logger - A fatal hardware error has occurred.

Component: Memory
Error Source: Machine Check Exception

The details view of this entry contains further information.

We can't help you with two lines worth of text with vague information. One being the thread title and the other being the line mentioned in your thread's body.

When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs. Please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.

did you try reset the expo memory to default 2666 standard? sometimes new CPU might have a IMC with voltages can't handle the same ram at expo, or that the value need to be tweaked, try run JEDEC ram spec first, then work your way up for memory compatability, Ryzen IMC are commonly not as capable as Intel IMC resulting in lower memory clock attainable

yes, Ive tried running default ram speeds and default bios settings with SAM even off, same problem

If so I would recommend you try running single channel ram, running memtest or OCCT memory stress test and open hw monitor to see if anything weird happens, sometimes silly things (not implying you are), could be forgot to re-apply thermal paste and re-use the old cooler with the left over thermal past , forgot to peel off cooler plastic film etc. causing thermal runaway, if both single ram module still results in memory error, likely there is something off with the IMC or ram modules. Look for say, if the tempearture just gone wild, you know it's cooling problem, if it flags out memory errors, ram/IMC is at fault, if only one dimm shows error, it can be the ram modules gone bad, if both modules have same reults, just return the brand new 5800x and ask the shop for a replacement or RMA
