Random Brief Black Screen

So I've had a problem that I've seen other people have on this site but still cannot find a fix for it. Randomly, without any hint whatsoever, my computer screen will black out completely for about 3-5 seconds, then turn back on like nothing happened. Here are my computer specs:

ASUS P8H77-V LGA 1155 Intel H77 HDMI SATA 6GB/s USB 3.0 ATX
Intel i5-3570 quad 3.4GHz core (3.8GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 77W
8 GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 6GB
Seagate Desktop HDD ST1000DM003 1TB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
ATAPI iHAS124 B ATA DVD/CD-ROM Combo
HP 2010i series monitor running 1600 x 900 @ 60hz
XION 700 Watt Power Supply
Windows 10

Also, I'm using a 6-pin to 8-pin converter cable from my power supply tor my Graphics card; the black screen was doing it before and after I added the cable (thought maybe that would help). Im' using a DVI-single cable to attach my monitor to the video card.

I swapped out the monitor to see if that was the problem and the same thing happened to the 2nd monitor. I don't have any liquid cooling on my CPU, just the standard fan; it does run a little warm sometimes but it never feels like it's getting too hot.

The random black screen happens both when I'm playing games like Battlefield 1/Dying Light or when I'm surfing the web (rarely when I'm surfing the web, most of the time when I'm playing those two games). My desktop runs like nothing happened - no changes to whatever I was doing.

Thanks in advance for your help on this!
