Question Random BSODs ?

My PC has been having issue after issue over the past month. However, these problems seem to be connected in some way and I can't find a solution.

About two weeks ago, my CPU cooler started randomly shutting off—the pump and fans would stop working, and the screen would go black. I opened up my PC and switched the SATA power cable with an unused one, and since then, the cooler has stopped turning off.

Now, a new issue has started: I'm getting BSODs whenever I play certain games, such as CS2. Each time, it's a random blue screen error, and my PC immediately restarts. The three most common errors are:
  • KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
  • CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED
  • UNEXPECTED_STORE_EXCEPTION
Sometimes the PC instantly BSOD on game startup, and other times it waits until I'm in a game.

Looking through your specs, the sweet spot for AM5's platform is DDR5-6000MHz or slightly higher with tight latencies, with AMD's E.X.P.O advertised on it's packaging/product site.

You forgot to mention the make and model of your motherboard? Please include the BIOS version for said motehrboard.

As for your GPU/PSU, people who owned an RTX 3000 series GPU were advised to overprovision;

...in your instance, you should've gone with a 1KW unit.

SSD: Samsung 990 PRO 2TB M.2 SSD
Check to see if your SSD is pending a firmware update.

You should include the .dmp files for us to look through. Host them on a site akin to DropBox and then pass on a link here.

I updated my original post with motherboard information. I also plan to upgrade my PSU to a 1000–1200W unit next weekend, so I wanted to be sure it's a PSU problem before swapping it out. As for the DMP files, I haven’t received any new ones because I believe my PC freezes on the blue screen.

Also updated my SSD firmware.

To update this issue: I was able to play games for about 10 days straight without any BSOD. However, it came back every time I played CS2—usually during the middle of a game or on the menu screen. I haven’t seen it happen with any other game.

I updated my BIOS to version 3265 for my ASUS B650E-E Strix and started trying various suggestions I found online, but nothing has worked so far. I recently tried following this YouTube video (verifier application):

. After completing the first part and restarting my PC, I received a "SYSTEM THREAD EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED" error. This time, it actually reached 100%, unlike the previous BSODs. I had to boot into Safe Mode and recover my system, as it would blue screen instantly on startup after that.

The minidump appears to show that FACEIT Anti-Cheat is causing the issue, so I’ll uninstall it and see if that resolves the problem. I haven’t used FACEIT in about a year, so it’s possible that this is the cause. From what I recall, the BSOD only occurs when I play CS2. I will keep testing to make sure.

Edit: Now I'm back to getting "UNEXPECTED_STORE_EXCEPTION"
