So, Iv'e had this problem for a couple months now and it's getting really annoying. My pc that's running windows 7 (AMD 5800k 4.3GHz & AMD R9 280x & 8gb ram). I'm getting blue screens at least once a day if not more, usually 0x00000a, 0x00000ae, atikmdag.sys and more. Sometimes it just restarts without any warnings. After getting blue screens my application files rollback, like my login infos and file locations and sometimes windows says my whole E disk is corrupted. I tried to format my pc, even that didn't help. I've also checked that all the cables are fully plugged in. I would really appreciate if someone could help me.

It sounds like you have have a power supply issue. What make model and watt is your psu? Also, have you added changed or upgraded any hardware recently? The memory loss tells me it could also be a hard drive or ram issue, but im betting either one or both arent getting adequate power

atikmdag.sys has to do with the AMD Catalyst Control Center. If you are using some kind of third party "driver updater" get rid of it. Double check Windows update and your hardware manufacturers only for current drivers. It's most likely driver related. Also, a nice clean installation of Windows is always a good idea.

I'm not using a third party driver updater and I clean installed my windows three weeks ago.

Might be the power supply because it's 200 watts under the recommendation, BUT it worked the first 4 months perfectly.

Are you SURE you got all the Windows updates?

Go to Windows update, and force it to check for updates (even if it says it's up to date) by clicking "check for updates." Reboot. Repeat.

And if you're under powering your equipment you should start with a new power supply as well. Under wattage is the worst thing you could do for your system. Hopefully you haven't permanently damaged your components.

I have 18 windows updates, but it's not downloading them at all. It's been at 0% for last 5min. I'm probably going to buy new power supply next weekend and hope it works. AND also the BOSDs and shutdowns are weird they never happen more than once when i turn my pc on. after one BSOD or restart it doesn't happen again until next time I boot my pc.
