My computer has been crashing for the past several months. Put together in 2012, ran perfectly fine until recently. I've done just about everything I possibly know and could do:
- New PSU
- Different GPU setups (SLI to single to a different single back to SLI)
- Reapplied CPU paste
- Reset BIOS
- Memtest, checked CPU/GPU temps, ran multiple benchmarks/stress tests
Computer randomly locks up/shuts off - can be doing anything or nothing and the computer. Screen turns black (as in shuts off), and can take a few power button pushes/hard restarts to reboot. Most of the times it happens when playing computer games, but has also happened when just idling on desktop or browsing.
My next step is just to give it a good hard reformat and pray that solves something.
Setup:
EVGA nVidia 570 GTX SLI
i5-2400k(?) - was previously overclocked, now isn't
G.Skill sniper 8gb (4gb x2)
256gb SSD, 64gb SSD, 1TB HDD
