My PC has worked well for the last few years and for about 3 weeks I have had seemingly random crashes and restarts, No blue screen at crash just like a power loss, Usually it beeps once on reboot and the motherboard manufacturer logo appears then it crashes and the cycle restarts. This may happen up to 6 or 7 times, although it varies). Eventually it goes to the blue windows screen, sometimes it says "Automatic Repair" then "Diagnosing your PC" and goes on to the user log in screen. The hard drive light is often on for a long time at this stage. If I log in as a user before the drive light stops, it invariably crashes again. If I wait until the drive stops, then I log on, I may be able to use the PC for a while until a further crash. After several cycles of this sort of thing it does seem to settle down and becomes more stable.
Windows 10 Pro 64 - bit
Intel Core i5 4670 @ 3.40Ghz Haswell 2NM Technology
8.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 at 666 MHz
ASUSTeK Computer Inc. Z87 - K (socket 1150)
1863 GB Seagate Hard Drive
I have looked for any error records
The events recorded are the consequential events not the cause
No minidump file is produced
I interrupted boot and went to command prompt to look for the syste32 lof files but it showed only Drive "X" which was incomplete.
Ageing gamer would like advice on what I can do please.
I'm sure more information is required, if so, may I request guidance on how to obtain it.
Thanks
Glyn
