Run these tests on drives
Samsung Magician - https://semiconductor.samsung.com/consumer-storage/support/tools/
WD - https://support.wdc.com/downloads.aspx?lang=en&p=279

both softwares should have tests you can run on drive, Magician can show SMART scores and run speed tests.
WD likely has tests as well

Are you on win 11 insiders?
  1. right click start
  2. choose run...
  3. type winver and press enter
  4. current version is 21H2
current build is 22000.469

yours is showing as 10.0.22000.2.0.0.768.101
not sure how i would get the full string of mine. I don't get errors.

I got that version of Win 11 via the "Do you want to upgrade?" message on Win 10 bootup. I've actually uninstalled Win 11 as it made gameplay really jerky, server pings went up by 25%, and made games pretty unplayable.

Anyway, another crash this morning: minidump (not that I think this will show anything new). Note that this crash was before I did the following on your advice:
  • WD Tool ran diagnostic, and all was ok. Result
  • Samsung Magician reported an Intel driver incompatibility, so I switched the driver to Samsung. Noticed a difference in the benchmarks - Before & after

not sure how i would get the full string of mine.
Open command prompt and type:
VER
I'm not sure if it shows ALL numbers or not though. Haven't looked it up.

I ran the dump file through the debugger and got the following information: https://jsfiddle.net/peb8huwc/show This link is for anyone wanting to help. You do not have to view it. It is safe to "run the fiddle" as the page asks.

File information:020522-6296-01.dmp (Feb 4 2022 - 16:27:16)
Bugcheck:SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (3B)
Probably caused by:win32kfull.sys (Process running at time of crash: csrss.exe)
Uptime:0 Day(s), 0 Hour(s), 50 Min(s), and 41 Sec(s)

This information can be used by others to help you. Someone else will post with more information. Please wait for additional answers. Good luck.

ver doesn't show the full string like his does, its same output as winver gives
10.0.22000.469

that is showing as current build as per https://www.anoopcnair.com/windows-11-version-numbers-build-numbers-major/

probably doesn't matter.

wow, a new victim (sarcasm).

now it says its a driver each time but I am not sure it is. This might tell us if it is.
I was resisting suggesting this until you checked ram. Follow the 3 precautions in here before running it:

I am curious what reaction you would get from Prime 95
I not sure of the intel tool would have run similar checks

Since updating the Samsung NVME driver, I've had 48 hours of no crashes. Didn't run Prime95 yet so will hold off till I get another BSOD

it may have been this
Aug 03 2020iaStorAC.sysIntel Rapid Storage Technology driver
as its used to speed up NVME drivers. And run raid
I have been using the Samsung ones since I got nvme as you need to have them installed to run tests on Magician anyway

System specs:
i5 9600k - passes intel test
16gb DDR 4 RAM Kingston - passes memtest
500gb SSD + 1tb HDD - Samsung drive passes tests
Asus Tuf Gaming Z390
RTX 2060
850W CORSAIR RM850x PSU
normally crashes with no BSOD mean its hardware. Machine check exception

do you have to be doing anything specific for it to crash?

did you run driver verifer? The only drivers likely to cause Machine check exceptions are for devices.
Did you run Prime 95?

I got them to run it 4 times, not sure about the settings part. But the free version won't let you run more than 4 without restarting.

I asked them to run prime as its possible error is a rounding one. I don't know if Intel app would find those.

Ive seen ram pass memtest but still be cause, as replacing it fixed problem. No software is perfect

Exactly. Software is limited that way and by nature. It can't replicate all possible real use scenarios that might make the RAM throw faults and errors.

I meant exactly that as I have also seen RAM passing MemTest but replacing them would solve the problem. Also sometimes it passes one 4-pass run but you repeat and it shows errors.

I read all the posts and since you too said it is likely to be a hardware issue (I think that too) I though maybe testing RAM again would reveal it.

So, I've run Driver Verifier a couple of times, but I notice that when I stop it it states that nothing was tested (see at the bottom):

Not quite sure what's happening here since I followed the instructions to the letter...
