The problems started on Halloween (oh the irony..) I was playing the guild wars events and then got a blue screen that I think was "Bad_Pool_Header". I disregarded it thinking it might just be a one time thing but then it kept happening every hour or so. Well since I have been trying to learn about fixing computers I figured out how to look at the minidump files and noticed it said atikmdag.sys,dxgmms1.sys, and ntokskrnl.exe were the problems. So I uninstalled and updated my ati radeon graphics card driver and tried to uninstall and install Direct X 11 (What my graphics card says it supports) but I couldn't find a download for 11 and didn't know if I should get 10 so I didn't bother doing anything to Direct X. The kernel I looked up and since it appears to be important I don't want to mess with it unless I reeeeally know what I am doing and that it will be for the better.
So after that it seemed to be fixed till it randomly just up and crashed. It's only happened once so far but I am afraid it might be dangerous for my computer so I haven't touched GW since the crash even though I really want the Halloween loot <x.x'>
The crash just made the screen go black and I could still hear my audio but it was choppy, then after a minute the audio stopped even though the screen still showed power and the computer was clearly still on. I also think I might have heard a slight thumping sound?
If it is relevant I also tried to install xsplit (because manycam kept crashing when I was using it on skype) but it told me I needed to install Adobe Flash for IE first and when I said it could it just said an error I can't remember (sorry >.<) so I tried installing it manually and even though I clearly have Flash for IE because YouTube works fine, it still says I don't have it . But now it doesn't even say anything it just runs the process but I can't see it. I tried leaving it up to install like it said it was doing but it never did.
Also I had some guild wars crashes where the game would report the error to the admins, audio mixer broke several times, and Webroot antivirus always says 4 threats removed after a scan no matter what I scan BUT also says no threats found.
Because of the errors I was wondering if it is the graphics card but the other errors are not graphics card related are they? @_@'
Sorry for all the writing and thanks so much to anyone who takes the time to read this and try to help. If you need any more information just ask and if you want I also have skype so we can figure it out with screen share also if needed.
I wouldn't be bothering everyone if I had another way of fixing it x.x but I already waited on hold with Geeksquad for 5+ hours (they never came back....)
