i've been experiencing random crashes since i built my PC 2 years ago. i got it working after a year with very unusual crashes (3-4 times a year) with the dev version of windows 11. happened with windows 10 too. now they started again, every day, usually when playing but also when doing non-heavy tasks like web browsing. It seems something related to drivers because I tried replacing every component, one at a time and keeps doing it

So we basically have to test everything but it be nice if it stopped blaming GPU. I don't expect you have the 2070 still?
no, i don't

You don't have any dongles that you always use? tried disconnecting and removing all related to rgb. heard that can cause crashes. and i have an Xbox controller, that's it

tried running with bare minimum parts?
i did, even without the power button

what usb dongles are rgb related? i assumed they all ran off headers on MB or off a hub in case? try removing Xbox controller just to remove it from list of possible causes.

in both cases, no dump and dram led on the motherboard
do you mean it was on or off?

Summary:
CPU Had 1600, has 2600
MB: Had MSI 550, has GB Aorus B450 Elite (newest bios)
Ram: had 2 Hyperx 3600, has Kingston KHX3600C17D4/8GX
GPU: Has RX 5500 XT, had 2070
Storage: 250gb sandisk, I assume you tried another drive
PSU: has Cooler master 750 bronze, had Power cooler 1000
Cooling?
had 3 120mm fans at the front, 1 at the back and this one on the cpu
https://www.idcooling.com/Product/detail/id/47/name/SE-903
stock cooling on the gpu
have the MAG VAMPIRIC 010
Somewhere in this swapping parts I would have thought to get a repair store to look at PC as you shouldn't have to replace everything to find cause. I would have done it before replacing anything as I seen people do what you have before, replace entire PC and its that 1 bit you didn't that is cause entire time.
Sometimes testing PC in another location can be revealing in its self, can show something you plug in is the cause.

Prime runs for 17 hours so I would let it finish
okay so both sticks pass Memtest. Not ideal to test both at once but its a short cut I guess.

test the sandisk ssd - I forgot WD owned them now - https://support-en.wd.com/app/answers/detailweb/a_id/42925

Only 3 ways to test PSU & 2nd is most accurate
  1. the paper clip method - https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/what-is-the-paperclip-method-of-testing-a-psu.1336402/
  2. or multimeter https://www.lifewire.com/how-to-manually-test-a-power-supply-with-a-multimeter-2626158
  3. or in the BIOS to check the +3.3V, +5V, and +12V. - https://www.lifewire.com/power-supply-voltage-tolerances-2624583
1 just proves it works, and 3 doesn't show it under load.

We could test GPU but we already know it blames it.
No tests for motherboards. Have to be really unlucky to have 2 bad ones but its possible.

not dongles, just the RGB connected to the motherboard. tried disconnecting all of them. I'll try

motherboard dran led was on. but sometimes, none is one, some other times dram and VGA on

i may end up taking it to another repair store. it's been 2 without finding the issue but I don't think I want to deal with this anymore

Prime runs for 17 hours so I would let it finish
I'll try tonight again

test the sandisk ssd - I forgot WD owned them now - https://support-en.wd.com/app/answers/detailweb/a_id/42925
I'll do

is the 3rd psu I tried. i forgot a 650 in the middle of the 1000 and 750. i'd discard that

We could test GPU but we already know it blames it.

when I have this issues a year ago, I couldn't pass heaven benchmark not even once. now it's running all night without any crash.
I'm thinking that could be the FIFA 23 for some reason.

Get to the point need to look at wiring in house or how furniture is arranged in house (this last part isn't serious)
You replaced everything twice.

did you replace ram before MB?
Wonder if its the ram you have now isn't compatible with your mb - https://download.gigabyte.com/FileL...nnacle.pdf?v=a1e40c7a298fd29e81ff2e500f49f43e
As i don't know if 3600 ram will work on a B450 - https://ram-comparison.com/kingston-khx3600c17d48gx-8gb
its not listed here - https://www.kingston.com/en/memory/search/model/98954/gigabyte-b450-aorus-elite-motherboard

i don't know if it would cause the whea errors but maybe

i may take the pc to a church instead of a repair shop :ROFLMAO:

did you replace ram before MB?
yep. different brand

now i installed god of war. doesn't seem like the most optimized game. also I'm seeing multiple posts of people having issues with fifa. like crashes and blue screens. if crash again, I'm buying an xbox. not so not serious

true, case could be haunted. :D

did you see my statement about ram.
the current MB may not like the ram, since its not on Crucials site or the MB ram list.
Ryzen pretty picky on ram. So its one possible. Max speed ram Motherboard site shows is 3200, not 3600. I know you running it slow.
I don't know if it would keep blaming same part each time as in my experience ram errors tend to move to another part once fixed.

Memtest doesn't know if ram is right for board, it just checks its health
Prime running fine with no errors could mean ram is okay but I am just looking for possible causes.
It could be just different enough to corrupt the ram drivers in memory and cause 2 different GPU to have same errors...
both sets of ram being 3600 don't really match the B450.
Not saying buy new ram, but it would be worth testing by a repair store. Swap right speed ram in and test PC as is.

how old are your USB devices? Strolls out into the wilderness of possible causes. I said before everything interconnected so one device playing up can cause another to mess up. WHEA errors can be caused by any hardware. If you have any old mice or keyboards, or even speakers... anything could be cause.

hey man. i installed w11 22h2, nothing else, no drivers, paused all updates installed c++ red and got god of war running all night. this morning installed origin and fifa 23. got it running all day. I'll assume is some weird driver incompatibility. or some software. I'll installed 1 by 1, waiting a couple of days in the middle to see what it was. just wanted to let you know. thanks for your help. really
