Okay for the past few months I've been getting these random folders with random letters/numbers appearing in my D: drive, I have no clue what they are but they keep building up if I don't delete them. When I do delete them a few will pop up the next day and so on until I get rid of them again. All these folders are empty and require administrator permission to delete.

What are these folders and how do I get rid of them permanently?

Avast and malwarebytes, have already done numerous scans with these programs but found nothing

Those folders are created by Windows Update as it tries to sort the updates. For some strange reason they're not always deleted right away, but they will usually disappear within a day or two.

Well they are getting pushed to my main d:drive directory and won't delete themselves at all, If I leave it for a month or longer the list builds up unless I delete them. Is there a way to direct where these folders go? it's really annoying having to look for the folder I want to use amongst this mess.

Just mass delete them

Thats not really a permanent solution.. I do delete them, but after mass deleting them for months on end, it has just be come a nuisance that needs resolving.
