So I'm out driving around in GTA V, and I notice my FPS drop from a solid 60 to around 30. It stays like this for only a few seconds, then goes back up. About 20 minutes later, the same thing happens, only that it stays down for about 5 minutes. This has never happened to me before, and I'm worried now. Does anybody have any idea as to why this is happening?

Specs:
i7-6700k
MSI Krait Gaming 3X
EVGA GTX 1070 FTW
Corsair Vengeance LED
EVGA P2 650w
WD Blue 1Tb HDD
AMD R7 Radeon SSD

Solution
Hmmm well without seeing it directly I can't in fact give perfect explaination. But with your system I don't assume it would be a hardware problem. Make sure your connection is good (could be spikes in lag as yes lag does affect fps). Be sure no anti-virus is running in the background. Also maybe a little fix in case it is stuff loading in game slow and causing the drop while it renders and such, if you have not already move the games you play alot over to your ssd. Those are my suggestions let me know if any of them help

Solution
Sorry for the late pick, I wanted to make sure before I chose a solution. I think you're right that it is lag because I do not experience the drops in offline, only in online. Thanks for your answer!
