Random FPS drops after installing new CPU

I installed a new CPU today (AMD Fx-8350) and after doing so, I've been experiencing random FPS drops when playing games, be it BF4 or any other game on the market. My GPU is a GTX 660 4GB, and I have 8GB of ram. I've read multiple problems that are similar to mine and they all mention a thing called "Throttling". I am not sure what this is and I'm weary to try anything so that I don't break my PC anymore.

My Specs:
Motherboard - MSI 760gm-p21 FX
CPU - AMD FX-8350
GPU - GTX 660 4GB

According to SpeedFan, my GPU temperature goes up to around 50 degrees Celsius, but my CPU temperature sits at 0 degrees. I have also seen my core temperature (whatever that is) soar to around 900 degrees, but I hope that's just a bug with the program.

is your bios up to date? the board needs a bios update to run fx8350 - version 7641vHB. since it's an entry level motherboard, it's power delivery is barely adequate for the 125w fx 8350.

you didn't post full pc specs. that'd include psu model, case, cpu cooler model amd such.
