I dont know why I am getting FPS drops while playing Fortnite and other games. I have reinstalled windows, updated bios a month ago, reseted all overclocks, and upgraded my GPU (2060-3080) with the latest driver 516.40. I stress test my ram OC with TM5 with extreme config for 30 minutes and it passed with no errors. Same thing with my CPU, stress tested using Linpack and OCCT, nothing is overheating.

Specs: i7-10700kf
G SKILL C18 64GB RAM 2x32
MSI 3080 12 GB
MSI MPG z490 Gaming Plus
850 Gold MSI PSU
Arctic Freezer 240
3 Wondersnail Scythe Case Fans
2 Samsung NVME SSDs and WD Blue Sata SSD

Roll back to an older driver also and see if that makes any difference, if it was working normally before something has to have changed.
When you get FPS drops I assume the GPU usage % is getting lower like 50-70%?
Even a 12900k which is far superior to a 10700kf can't push 250fps at 1080p in the fort of the nights.
If nothing has changed I would assume it's that low tier MSI power supply that is starting to crap out. 3xxx are known for power spikes.

Its not the power supply or the driver because I had the same problems with my 2060 with a 650W PSU. I thought when I get my GPU and PSU everything would be fixed...

I'm going to upgrade to the z590 dark and 11700k and see if the motherboard is the issue. I kinda heavy overclocked the motherboard by disabling power saving features with Scewin

It might be my motherboard as I found out someone has the same problem and their vram temps on their motherboard are too high. I am unable to monitor the vram temps of my motherboard for some reason. I always wanted to get rid of this motherboard because I want to push the limits when overclocking.

You're going to spend $700+ on a 11 gen board + cpu? That is not a good move.

The evga dark 2 dimm motherboard is too good to pass up. $278 is good deal. I could care less about the 11th gen getting beat. Or I could just get a used z490 evga dark board
Im getting the rog maximus xii apex z490 instead. Never getting a MSI motherboard again.

Bro what does a 1080p monitor have to do with anything??????? Many people use those with high end gpus with no problem. No the MSI power supply isnt cheap. The problem was the motherboard.
