Random fps drops when temps are fine.

Posting this for my mate.

Yesterday his i5 4690k went MAD with the stock cooler and got up to temps of 95 so we decided to turn off the pc.

Today he's gotten new thermal pasta and a liquid h60 cooler. Everything installed. 20 idle temps, 40 in FULL LOAD.

After playing fortnite for a while he is still getting random fps drops like before when the cpu was reaching 95 temps but the cpu is barely hot atm?

45-50°c in FULL LOAD.

gpu temp is also fine


Any suggestions?

It's a coolermaster 700w, not sure which model exactly

and the graphic card is a gtx 970 ( forgot to add that in the original post )

well there are different tiers in PSU's and they give you an idea on how good or reliable the PSU will be 1-2 are very good 3 is average and 4 is not fit for purpose but cheap and the coolermaster falls into 4 there are a lot of manufacturers some make better units than others price also plays its part. It might not be the problem but I am just trying to help.
