So just a couple of days ago I changed my GPU but suddenly on certain games (Dead by Daylight, League of Legends, GTA 5 Benchmark) I'm getting random freezes, according to LoL my fps would drop heavily to 10~14
This is what I got while using GTA 5 Benchmark and the sudden freeze happened

As you can see my PerfCap Reason becomes Idle from VRel, GPU usage drops to 0 or 1~2

Here's a small clip of that moment where the benchmark freezes

This is my GPU and CPU, my motherboard is a CROSSHAIR V FORMULA-Z
Using Windows 10 64bits

Any ideas? 🙁 Thanks!

Edit.
This is what I saw when playing LoL and getting the freezes, the first one is the normal freeze, the second and longer one happened when I tried to alt-tab to take screenshot of it

Solution
Disable any background apps you don't need to have running. If you're using a 3rd party anti-virus/firewall app, check for a "game mode" and make sure it's enabled. Make sure all drivers are up to date. Also, when you installed the 1060... did you completely uninstall the old drivers 1st, then perform a clean installation of the 1060 drivers?

@Toshibitsu
Tried that indeed, uninstalled and reinstalled drivers, seems like it helped a bit, but I'm still getting the freezing :/ not using any 3rd party antivirus nor firewall other than what windows has (I should tho but...)

@prince_xaine
I found some errors and warnings on the System, unsure what they mean tbh...

Please open an admin command prompt (Windows Key + X) and type:
sfc /scannow
Press Enter

Wait for this to finish. If anything is misconfigured or any system files have gone missing or gotten corrupted, it will fix it. Reboot afterwards.

Also, Go into device manager (Windows Key + X)
Click View, Show Hidden devices.

Now go through these drop down menus for each driver type and uninstall any device that is greyed out. You can leave devices you know you need, such as a USB controller, a USB enabled monitor, etc. This should help with compatibility issues. Just so you know: If it's greyed out, it's not currently in use by your system. And if it's needed, the system will automatically reinstall it after a reboot. By the way, once your done with this, reboot.

A side note:
That "freeze" you are seeing looks like a bottleneck, and a really bad one at that. Are you playing the game from a HDD or a SSD? If we're speaking the speed of components by latency:
CPU -> RAM -> PCI-e -> SSD -> HDD -> USB Peripherals/Monitors, etc. The speed of all of these are ultimately controlled by the motherboard. And whether or not you can use the full speed of all of them depends on everything installed and the PSU you are using.

Your computer only moves as fast as the slowest component. So if you have a HDD still as your main boot, this needs to be fixed. If you have a SSD with a HDD installed for games, make sure the HDD is OK.

After you have run through all of these options, I recommend running this benchmark, as it will help you determine your slowest component.

If you do run the benchmark, please post your results here.

In the device manager I had a LOT of greyed stuff, mostly copies of others I already had, unsure how or why that happened but I got rid of all of them

About the HDD/SSD, I sadly do use an HDD as C, also another HDD to install games and everything else, atm I don't think I would be able to get a new one tho :/
I really don't want to think about it but talking about it I wonder if it's my PSU it's an Xcase Power Supply Atx 800w :/ ... there might be a reason why I can't find it when googling it lol...

Also I recently noticed that whenever my freezes happen the "3D" graphic is the one that drops hard... I tried to move a couple stuff on the Nvidia control panel but I might be missing something 😱 not entirely sure tbh

Benchmark results... hmmm 🙁

so it is indeed my HDD?

If your HD's are bad, they will need to be replaced.

Run HDTune: http://www.hdtune.com/
or CrystalDiskInfo: https://osdn.net/projects/crystaldiskmark/downloads/68567/CrystalDiskMark5_5_0.zip/

Of course, it would be best/most accurate to use an extensive testing app such as PC Doctor: https://www.ibm.com/support/home/docdisplay?lndocid=migr-5074326

(however it requires you make a bootable cd & the test can take all day)

No. The issue appears to be your CPU. If you remember:
CPU -> RAM -> GPU -> SSD -> HDD -> USB peripherals.
We checked the error codes in Windows for power failures or faults, there was no reports of such.
I do believe we have isolated the cause to be your CPU. If your CPU is the "brain" the other components are the limbs. So if your CPU is acting up, everything else will suffer.
Please download RealTemp: https://www.techpowerup.com/download/techpowerup-real-temp/
Come back with results for your temperatures. Also, if you have CPU-Z, please let us know what voltage the CPU is operating at, as well as the speed of the CPU.

As for the HDD for OS, the best thing you could do is create a bootable USB and buy a cheap SSD from Kingston $35 for 128 GB, which is more than enough for the OS and installed programs. (My SSD literally only has 30 GB used.) If you do take that path, I can help you setup a maintenance schedule as well as how to optimize everything so your computer won't use up the whole drive.

I'll try to contact the one who sold me the gpu, trying that as a friend has the very same CPU and a GTX 1060 3GB like mine so the "base" is pretty much the same but they don't have the issue... if that doesn't work I think I'll try to get another CPU tho that might be difficult as reading about it, it seems that it would be best to just upgrade all the way to Ryzen 😛 but new mobo and ram zzzzz

UPDATE.

Apparently the issue was a program called PlaysTV, it was the one I was using to record the videos of the issue XD
While talking to my friend she noticed that League of legends was using waaaaaaay too much memory from the GPU, and also made a small comment about how she stopped using that program, suggested me to close it see if there was a bug in it that would cause the issue, so I did and I was able to go through the whole GTA 5 benchmark without any issue, so far so good, I'll keep using it through the day see if any other problem arises but it looks quite good atm :)

@toshibitsu faaaair enough, tho because it never caused me trouble i really didnt think that would be it lol plus it was my way to record proof about it and make comparisons my bad, chosen as solution tho thx!

mid-summer sales? sadly not in my country 🙁 my gpu costed me 240usd, and sadly that's super cheap over here
