The PC runs with no problems for a week, maybe two, then it freezes shut. the sound stops, and the image on the monitor freezes in place. No artifacts, no buzzing and no reaction at all. It may do this three times a day, or once or twice a month. I have to unplug it, as there is no reaction. For a time, after restarting it made a long beep and the coolers revved to maximum speed. I got annoyed one day after the third freeze and hit it hard my fist. it shut down, restarted on it's own and until today it worked. It started freezing again, but without the long beep at the start.
This thing goes on for about four months, and i would appreciate if someone could point me somewhere with this issue

Solution
First off, and you probably already know this, striking a PC is definitely NOT the way to fix it. A BFH won't fix most things.
That being said, it sounds like either bad RAM or a bad PSU.
I would download and run MemTest86 to check your RAM.
Then proceed from there.
