So the last couple of weeks, my computer will start freezing at random and I mean random. It doesn't require I be doing anything strenuous at all. At first I thought it was my graphics driver but after trying 3 different drivers, didn't get any better. So I reseated everything in my computer and still nothing happened. So I launched it into safe mode in the attempt to wipe clean some drivers and it even froze in Safe mode, which would indicate to me it was a hardware issue.
The newest hardware change before this crashing happened was my new GTX 980. So I've ordered a cross-ship but I was hoping to see if someone might be able to narrow down what the culprit might be.
When it freezes randomly, it obviously freezes the screen but it never recovers, the sound stops and I have to hard reset the computer. And it's becoming so frequent that it will happen every few minutes and as of last night, it is freezing the computer at the windows startup screen as well. It doesn't create a dump file at all and does not set an event in event viewer. Anyone have a more specific idea on what hardware issue this might be? Do you think it's my GPU?
I'm not sure if it might be my PSU but you would think if it was an unstable power supply, it would log it. I used MemOK to test my ram and it came out fine. It's also not my temps as they are completely fine and the freezes will happen on boot up as well.
